Like the story of Emmaus, the weekend retreat is open to anyone, regardless of current level of practice or faith tradition.
Weekend retreats begin on Friday evening and conclude with a "closing Mass" on Sunday evening. To make the most of your retreat experience, we require candidates to be present for the entire weekend retreat.
Our retreats are hosted at surrounding retreat centers, primarily at the LaSalette Retreat Center in Attleboro, MA.
La Salette Retreat Center prides itself in providing wholesome meals to our guests: fresh meats, poultry, fish, potatoes, rice, pasta, fresh vegetables, salads, fruit (in season), etc. Our kitchen staff will do its best to respond to diets for medical needs: diabetics and those with allergies (milk, eggs, nuts, peanuts, fish, soy, wheat), etc. Some allergies are so severe and uncommon that we must ask participants to bring their own special foods, if that is the case.
We do not have a dietician in our kitchen. The staff will do its best to accommodate those who have medical dietary restrictions.
Different Eating Lifestyles
There are those who opt to live according to different eating lifestyles: Fruitarians (fruits, seeds and nuts only), Vegetarians, Vegans, Pescatarians (fish eating vegetarians), etc. We cannot accommodate by cooking special meals or by going out to shop for special foods. We do not have the staff do to that and these specialized foods are usually more expensive.
Again, if the food you eat is “special” please bring it with you. There is a refrigerator and microwave in the main dining room. Likewise, you can bring your own special beverages: soy or almond milk, special teas, etc.
We are here to serve you as best we can within certain limitations from the point of view of staff and budget.
Sincerely, (Rev.) Ted (Edward) Brown, M.S. Director, 2023
